How it works:

Any 4D LABS user registered in NEMO may submit a photo (Faculty, Staff, Students, External Users).
Photos must be of work completed on a tool in 4D LABS that is available through NEMO. Artistic renderings are acceptable as long as they represent work that was completed in 4D LABS.
One photo submission per participant.
Photos will be judged primarily on artistic merit. Make sure they are eye-catching!
Winning photos will be enlarged for display in 4D LABS and may be used on the website and/or in other promotional materials.

Timeline:

Submissions deadline is Friday, October 24th, 2025, at 4 pm.
Judging will take place during our Halloween party on October 31st, 2025, at 2 pm-4 pm.
Everyone is invited to attend!
Winners will be announced at the end of the event.

Four winners will be chosen:

Judges’ Choice – 1st place $25.00 gift card, 2nd place $15.00 gift card. Winners are determined by the Judging Committee.
Popular Vote – 1st place $25.00 gift card, 2nd place $15.00 gift card. Winners are determined by the event attendees.

Submission Requirements:

Photos must be submitted as digital files and emailed to info@4dlabs.ca.
Submit your file in jpeg format with a file size less than 10 MB.
Name the file with your last name, the tool used, and a 1–2-word description of the photo (especially for microscope images).
Your email subject line should be “Photo Contest Entry.”
In your email, please include a brief caption (a few words to a couple of sentences max) for the photo. You may also wish to choose a title for your work.
You must have permission from your supervisor to share the image, and photos must not have any copyright restrictions.
You will need to fill out the linked copyright license agreement form.
