Science Alive! Camper Visit
4D LABS hosted around 50 Science Alive! “Campers”, ages 8-12 during July and August. “Campers” were rotated through stations at 4D LABS in small subgroups to highlight various aspects of the research laboratories in addition to each the User Facilities (Nanofabrication, Nanoimaging, and LASIR). Campers witnessed the power of lasers, the cold of liquid nitrogen, everyday items up-close-and-personal as viewed by high powered microscopes, what it feels like to be “gowned up” for the clean room, and the wonder of advanced materials. Pictured are our prospective new Clean Room Process Engineers 10+ years from now. We appreciate all the volunteers that assisted to provide this experience to the campers. Thank you. In the words of a “Camper”, “that was awesome!”
