"This open access regional laser facility was established in 2005 as a joint initiative between Simon Fraser University and the University of British Columbia. The facility boasts leading edge laser sources, diagnostics and end stations for a broad range of research applications.  Our goal is to provide laser experts with the opportunity to take their research to the next level, while offering non-experts the opportunity to have access to research tools that will provide them with a new dimension and new insights to their research. The facility offers training to non-experts so that they can become proficient with these laser-based technologies and techniques and expand their research horizons.  We welcome the participation of local, regional, national and international academic and non-academic users."

Gary W. Leach,
Director of Laboratory for Advanced Spectroscopy and Imaging Research (LASIR)
